On the note attached to items that are being held for patrons who will later return with a library card, please provide a date 3 days in the future. This will be the date that Materials management returns the item to the shelf if it has not yet been claimed.

New Book Status Changes

Most of our new books eventually become part of the regular collection, and when they do it's important to get the new location code correct. Just because the call number is "FIC MEL" doesn't mean it necessarily belongs in fiction -- check to see if its a mystery, large print, SP, etc. Likewise most Deweys do belong in non-fiction, but some may be travel books. Lots of books end up "missing" simply because the catalog indicates the wrong location. RICOH ON ALL COMPUTERS

Joe has fixed the settings on all patron computers, and from now on, all computers should always see RICOH as a printer option.

Wireless Printing Instructions

Hi Everyone,

I recently updated the instructions for adding the WPL patron printer to PC laptops. This allows patrons to print directly over the wireless network. I will be doing the same for the Mac interface soon. Let me know if you notice any problems with the directions and I can tweak them. Paper copies are located next to the patron printer.

Lost and Found Cards

Don't forget to remove blocks from an account when you've returned a lost card to a patron. Also, remove any notes or messages from the account pertaining to the formerly lost card. It's easy to forget.

TURN THE PHONE "ON"

Push the "Night" button on the First Floor Desk Phone (upper-right corner) as part of Opening.....
and then....
Push the "Night" button when you are CLOSING (the light should be on when we are closed)
