Another way to look up patron accounts...

Sometimes you need to look up a patron's account in Millennium, and you just can't seem to find the person you're looking for. They might have a completely unique first name, but since Millennium always looks for the last name, that doesn't help. Wouldn't you love to be able to search by their first name, their middle name, or even their kid's name?
What I've done is to export the contents of a Millennium List called "tlw patrons" and leave a copy on the desktop of the circulation and reference desk computers. Its just a big old .txt file that opens with a program called Notepad. Use the Ctl-f key to open up a search box. When you find the patron, simply copy and paste their barcode number directly into Millennium and open the account.
Feel free to help keep the list and the export file up to date. Andy

This has been rather helpful for me.

Thanks!
